Our
Church History
Triumph
Church has its roots in the falling of the Holy Spirit on a small
group of Christians at a brush arbor meeting near Eden,
Mississippi, in 1935. From that event came a family of
pastors and church builders who created a series of churches
across the South: the Fields and Marshall families.
Renee
Marshall met Randy Clark at seminary in Jackson and they later
established Triumph Church of Southeast Texas, the mother church
of Triumph Vicksburg.
Triumph
Church was born at a Triumph Women's Conference in Texas, where it
was prophesied that a new church would be raised up in Vicksburg
that was a spirit-filled, bondage-breaking, multi-cultural place
of restoration, healing and hope.
Shortly
thereafter a small group began meeting in the home of one of the
members and eventually the group grew to the point that new
locations were used around Vicksburg. In early 1990's, the
church purchased its current location through a miraculous series
of events and broke ground.
Expansions
followed in the late 1990s as a new education building and
fellowship facility were completed, along with an enlargement of
the sanctuary.
Following
two previous pastors who helped grow the church, Pastor Mike
Fields become Pastor in 2002. Under his leadership,
membership had grown by 2007 to the point that two services were
required.
