About
Triumph Church, Vicksburg
Triumph Church began in the home of Wayne and
Joyce Fields with a small group of people praying and studying
God’s word together. With a desire to see a Spirit-filled,
life-giving church raised up in Vicksburg, this small group of
believers connected with Pastor Randy and Renee’ Clark for
oversight and guidance.
The
church was incorporated in summer 1990 and Chaz and Regina Bosarge
were introduced as Triumph’s first full-time pastors. Triumph
moved to the Pipefitters Local on Frontage Road, but soon outgrew
that facility. The church then moved to the corner of South &
Walnut Street.
Triumph
experienced rapid growth over the next few years and, in 1993,
purchased property and built the first building at its present
location.
In
the summer of 1994, the Bosarge’s resigned as Triumph’s
pastors to start a new work in Jackson. Dan and Sue Landry came to
Triumph in the fall of 1994 and were pastors until spring 2000.
In
November 2000, Mike Fields, the son of founding elders Wayne and
Joyce Fields was installed as Triumph’s senior pastor. Mike and
his wife Zena had served faithfully at Triumph since its beginning
as elders and Mike as minister of music since 1995.
Triumph
has experienced tremendous growth under their leadership,
expanding its campus footprint, staff and leaders. Triumph now
offers two weekend services with 500-600 in attendance, making it
one of the largest congregations in Vicksburg. Triumph has plans
to open its second campus in Tallulah, La. in early 2012.
With
a life-giving atmosphere, gifted leadership, a strong commitment
to family and relevant Biblical teaching, Triumph has attracted
people from all ages, religious backgrounds, races, and walks of
life. Triumph offers biblically based contemporary worship
services that are alive with energy and creativity, as well as
excellent childcare, exciting children's and student ministries,
and dynamic small groups.
God
is at work at Triumph Church. We invite you to see for yourself
how exciting church can be when the focus is simple and people are
free to go after God with passion!
